Manchester United defender Chris Smalling suffered a groin injury during the match against Swansea at Old Trafford last weekend.

The England international has been ruled out of Euro 2012 - ”Chris has suffered a bad injury. It is a groin muscle injury and he’ll miss the European Championship.” said Ferguson.

Pat Richards picks up knee injury.

Wigan Warriors winger Pat Richards injured his knee during the Super League game with Hull FC on Sunday.

The Irish-Australian professional rugby player could be sidelined for at least a month after sustaining ligament injury.

Coach – Shaun Wane said: “It is a shame to lose Pat, I thought he was terrific at Hull, he had a scan on Monday and he will go and see the surgeon (on Tuesday). He could be out for anything between four and six weeks.”  Read more...


Another season rule out for Tyrone.

Tyrone forward Kyle Coney suffered a groin injury during the club game between Ardboe and Greencastle on Sunday.

Coney is now the second player that requires surgery in the County team, along with injured forward Ronan O’Neill who sustained a cruciate ligament knee injury; both players are set to miss the rest of the Gaelic football season.

Steven Davis could be out with groin injury.

Rangers captain Steven Davis will miss the rest of the season if he needs surgery on a groin injury.

The midfielder sustained the injury during the SPL match against St Mirren and is ruled out of Glasgow’s weekend game with Hearts.

Manager – Ally McCoist said: “Davo is struggling a little bit. It’s not been confirmed yet in terms of the extent of the injury, but it looks like he’ll probably need a wee operation towards the end of the season.., but he won’t be involved at the weekend, that’s for sure.”  Read more...
